Dead Heat Rules

  • In the event of a tie where 2 or more competitors are offered in one event/market, the dead heat rule applies. This can happen with future bets including statistical leaders for a season, or bets on players to finish in a certain position in a tournament or race, as is commonly offered in golf and motor sports.
  • Under the dead heat rule, the payout will be the total bet amount (wager plus win) divided by the number of players tied, minus the wager.
  • For example, you place a $100 bet on a player at +500 to reach the top 5 places in the tournament, and he finishes 5th, but tied with two other players meaning 3 players in 5th place
  • In this scenario, the dead heat rule will result in the following payout example:
    • Combine the Wager and Win amount ($100+$500) = $600
    • Divide the total of the Wager and Win amount by the number of players tied (3), giving you $600/3 = $200 in partial winnings
    • Subtract the original wager amount of $100 from the $200 in partial winnings and now the payout for this wager would be $100.

Primary markets offers and rules

1. Spreads (Handicaps)

  • Spreads are a number of goals/points/sets/games whereas they represent an advantage or disadvantage to one side or the other. The advantage or disadvantage will be added to the official final result of the market for which a spread has been applied.
  • Spreads are applied in either a two-way or three-way markets:
    • Two-way markets are typically between two teams or two players in a Head-to-Head. For example:
      • The spread on the event is Home Team +3 points, Away Team -3 points.
      • Final Score: Home Team 27, Away Team 29.
  • The Away Team wins the game, but does not cover the spread at -3 points for an implied final score of 26.
  • The Home Team loses the game but does cover the spread at +3 points with an implied final score of 30 points.
  • Any outcome that results in a “Push” whereas the implied final score after the spread is applied results in a draw or tie will have the full amount of the wager refunded.
      • Common two-way spread markets are as follows:
  • Point Spread – American Football/Basketball.
  • Runline – Baseball.
  • Puckline – Hockey.
  • Handicap – Soccer/Rugby/Tennis/Aussie Rules/etc.
    • Three-way markets are a two-way market that allows for a “draw” or a “tie” to be selected. For example:
      • Home Team +3 points, Away Team -3 points or Draw.
      • Final Score: Home Team 27, Away Team 30.
  • The Draw would be the settled result. Any wagers on +3 or -3 are now settled as losses instead of pushes.

2. Totals (Over/Under)

  • Totals wagers require that a patron choose over or under a stated number (points/goals/runs/games/etc) based on the specific interval of an event (full game/half-time/quarter/period/inning/etc) and by Team, Player or Combined for all participants. For Example:
    • Total Points for the entire Game is 47.5
    • Patron may wager that the combined points scored by the Home and Away team will either be over 47.5 points or under 47.5 points. As there cannot be half points scored, in this example, a final score of 47 points combined would be a winner for the Under, while a final score of 48 points combined would be a winner for the Over.
  • Totals offered that are whole numbers provide the opportunity for a Push should the final scores combined to equal the total number the wager was made on. For example, the Total for the Full Game was 48 points. Home Team scored 27 points, Away Team scored 21 points. In this case, all wagers would be settled as a Push and the full amount of the wager would be returned to the patron.
    • Examples of sports and markets where Totals are offered:
      • American Football – Total Points Scored/Total Passing Yards/Total Rushing Yards/Total Touchdowns/Total points scored in first 7:30 minutes – By Team or Player • Basketball – Total Points Scored, Total 3-pointers, Total Rebounds.
      • Baseball – Hits, Scores, Home Runs, RBIs.
      • Hockey – Shots on Goal, Scores, Power Plays.
      • Boxing/MMA – Total Rounds, Total Punches Landed.
    • An official result of an event must be recorded and recognized by the governing body of that sport for a Totals wager to be settled.
    • All markets offered where there is a reference to timeframes (Total Points in first/last X minutes), the settlement shall use the following logic:
        • Total Points within First 7 minutes 30 seconds = 00:00:00 – 07:29:59.
        • Over/Under 5.5 Rounds = 5th round 00:00:00 – 01:29:59.
    • All markets offered in relation to Totals are specific to the stated interval of the event and do not include scoring that occurs in Overtime unless otherwise stated for that specific market. For example:
      • Total for the Full Game = 48 points, Patron wagers on the Over.
        • At the end of regulation, Home Team has 24 points, Away Team has 24 points.
        • In the Overtime interval, Home Team scores 3 points for a final score of 27 – 24.
        • Wager will be settled as a Push as at the end of regulation, both teams combined for a total of 48 points.
    • Each sport has its own rules for defining the terms of settlement regarding Totals wagers and the requirements around required intervals for official results in the event of suspension of play prior and the event is not able to settle under normal circumstances.

3. Money Lines (Winner) There are multiple Money Line type wagers:

  • Two-Way Money Line = Selection between two teams/players to predict the Winner of an event/market.
    • Events and Markets may consist of a combination of an interval in an event (Full game/1st Half/3rd Period/5th Inning/etc) and a performance metric (Most Points/Most Blocks/Most Punches Landed/etc).
    • Two-way Money Line wagers do include overtime unless otherwise stated for that specific sport or market.
    • If the indicated interval of the event/market concludes and the result is a draw/tie, then all wagers shall be settled as a Push and the full wager amount will be refunded to the patron. o Examples of Sports and Markets where two-way money lines are offered:
      • American Football – Winner of Game/1st Half/4th Quarter.
      • Basketball – Winner of Game/2nd Quarter.

4. Futures

All wagers on markets available for future betting on Plannatech are settled in a reasonable time after the result of the market is known.

For example: If you wager on Team A to win their regular season conference title, and they are mathematically out of contention prior to the completion of the regular season, the bet shall be settled as a loss after the completion of the regular season. Alternatively, if Team A were to win in this scenario, the bet shall be settled as a win in the same timeline.

5. Live In-Play Wagering

All events/markets offered for In-Play Live wagering are priced and calculated in real time based on the current score and or scenario. Wager Types

1. Straight Wagers

  • A straight wager involves a single selection made on any event/market.
  • Payout Calculation of Straight Wagers is based on the price assigned to the selection in the form of “Juice” or “Vig” which can be either a negative (favored) or positive (underdog) number which is used to calculate the payout per $1 wagered. For example:
  • Spread Market: Home Team – 3 -110.
    • This indicates that the Home Team is favored by 3 points.
    • A price of -110 which means I can pick the Home Team to win the game and cover
the spread of 3 points at a wager of $110 to win $100.
  • Two-Way Money Line Market: Home Team to Win -165.
    • This indicates that the home team is favored to win by more than a 50% chance.
    • A price of -165 means the patron can pick the Home Team to win the game only, regardless of score, but must wager $165 to win $100.
  • Straight Wager Payout Examples:
Price Risking $100 to win
-125 $80
+575 $575
-110 $90.91
+120 $120

2. Parlay Wagers

  • A parlay wager consists of two or more selections on any pre-match or live event/market.
  • In order for a parlay to be a winning wager, all selections included in the parlay must be settled as winners.
  • In the event of a push on any selection within the parlay, the payout multiple will be adjusted to reflect a parlay with one less selection in it. For example:
  • 4 Team Parlay.
    • Home Team -3.
    • Total Points Over 47.
    • Away Team Rushing Yards Under 100.
    • Total Touchdowns Over 5.
  • The game ends and the final score is Home Team 30 – Away Team 27, this creates a Push for the selection of Home Team -3.
  • The 4 team parlay now reverts to a 3 team parlay and adjusted potential payout.
    • Any 2 team parlays where one selection is settled as a push shall result in the wager being designated a straight wager and settled accordingly.
    • Payout Calculation for Parlay wagers is based on True Odds:
2 Team 2.645
3 Team 5.958
4 Team 12.283
5 Team 24.359
6 Team 47.413
7 Team 91.424

    • Team B Point Spread – 6.
